Snowblower Reviews

  • Very poor snow thrower
    By Lawrence Loberg(Owner), Mar. 26, 2011
I purchased my McCulloch last fall. The first one arrived damaged. The dealer was
very good and picked up the damaged one and sent me a new one. The second one arrived and I started it for the first time. It made and awfull sound. I discovered the scraper bar and housing was bent up in a v. I pounded it down and
checked it on a flat surface. It looked good, but when I used it I noticed that it blew snow from under it back on my feet. I have only used it 3 times and the last time it would not pull it self forward. I had to push very hard. I ended up using the shovel. You are better off spending andother $100 or so for a Toro.Larry

I bought one of these last year, but ended up using my 29 year old Honda HS50.
The 1st McCulloch I got was damaged. I sent it back and they sent a new one. I found out after starting that it was also damaged. The auger housing and scraper bar
was bent up in the center and when I started it it made and awful sound. It chewed up the rubber on the auger. I found out after getting that fixed it blew more snow back at me from under it than it did out the top. The oild cap does not fit properly and also the gas tank seem loose. I can not find parts for it either. I suppose I may as well junk it.

  • Can not get parts

I bought this snow blower a year ago. The first one came damaged. I sent it back.
They sent me a a replacement (same Model)
I put the gas and oil in and started it. It started easy, but made and awful noise.
The auger housing wa bent up and when I ran it it tore up the auger rubber and the scraper bar is worn out. I pounded the housing down, but it was already too late. It needs a new scraper bar and auger rubber. I can not find any parts and no one answers my emails. I understand they made improvements to this snow thrower(like a updated scraper bar) I was not the only one with problems withis snow thrower. They had trouble with snow blowing back under the blower to their feet like I did. Why can't they do right and send people the parts so they could fix them. I may have to junk it. I am back using my 29 year old Honda.

I bought one of these for snowblowersdirect.com last year. The first one came damaged. I sent it back and got another one. I put the gas and oil in it and started it up. It made and awful noise. I shut it down and noticed the auger housing was bent upwards. I thought and easy fix. I took a hammer and pounded it down. It is quieter, but it still blows snow back on my feet. Does not clean down to the pavement like a toro
or MTD does. I can not get parts to fix it. I should have sent it back and ordered another kind. Better yet buy localy. Only thing good is the motor.
