Snowblower Reviews

Purchased this beast from lowes during a 18" snow storm in lower ny. It eats even dense snow plow discharge from a 2 lane highway. It runs quite a while on a tank full. It starts easy with the electric or pull start. But... It is really heavy to get in and out of a high bed 2500 4x4. Second, the controls are all electric. When they go, you are stuck. In my case, the left to right chute control never worked. Had to loosen the motor screws and adjust the chute by turning and holding the actual chute to clear my drive. 2 weeks and do not have it back from warantee place. It is snowing 6" tomorrow. O well, not a honda or ariens or husqvarna.

Good and bad unit. Bought from loses $1499. Big bad heavy duty. Eats through 3ft plow discharge with no trouble. Starts right up, throws snow very well so it goes where you want it and doesn't use that much gas forits power. Bad news? 300 pounds so it is hard to get in/out of a high tailgate (2500 4x4). Also got it home in 18" snow storm to find electric chute control switch only went 1 way. Discovered at end of road opposite tools. Had to loosen and disconect motor as no manual turn option (has to aim by holding chute with glove. Warantee place has it 2 weeks and is now snowing expected 6". Made by murray, not JD so dealer doesn't even stock them. For the money buy a honda, airens or husqvarna and paint it green yourself.

  • Good snowblower but sheer bolts break often
    By Joe Link(Owner), Feb. 9, 2016
This snow blower works great. Powerful machine, but apparently the drive train is not very heavy duty. The sheer pins constantly break. Two on each wheel, one on the auger, and one on the drive shaft. It's a pain the behing stopping 3 times in the snow to change them in a 3 hours job. Beside that it couldn't be better. Heated bars are great, plows through anything. Bought 8 years ago. I'm told that that's the way they're designed. Too bad.
