Awesome machine

I bought one of these a few years ago. I have a 700 ft driveway, slight grade, 2 cars wide with a large parking pad. I had relied, for 6 years, on plowtrucks at about $150 per snow event. I finally broke down and bought a snowblower. Everyone in my neighborhood snickered. The driveway was too big to blow, it would take forever to complete, or it was 'overkill.'

I live in Maryland, and last year we got the dual blizzards in January and my neighborhood received over 6 ft of snow during the two events. I fired up the Cub Cadet and went to work. It was amazing. After the first snow (42"), I cleared the driveway in about an hour. The tracks propelled it up the hill at a walking pace (3rd gear). Two days later, I repeated it again. It cut through the snow like it wasn't there. Several of my neighbors were snowed in for days because the plow trucks were busy doing their commercial customers first. So the calls started coming in. I cleared three of my neighborhood drives, all of similar size to mine, and the critics were silenced. My wife, who rolled her eyes at me when I first bought it, now thinks I'm a genius. :)

That is the anectdotal part of the review. As for operations, the electric starter is a huge help. The pull start works, but I have a bad back, and that helps a lot. Once running, the fingertip steering makes it easy to handle, and throttle controls and chute operations are easy. I would prefer having the discharge adjustment on the console. It is a wheel down on the left side. It isn't a huge issue, just a personal preference.

If you are looking for an excellent machine, consider this one. It is a good value, and if you get a 'storm of the century, it will cut it down to size in short order.
